But they were PURPLE potatoes and I was determined to get them in on potato day! This was about 7 years ago :( We were so excited to watch them grow and the kids had the best time digging them up and playing in the dirt when they were ready. They were so fascinated that they were purple INSIDE and out! <br /> If I didn't have split pea soup ready for dinner, I would fix a pot of Northern beans.
